Michela and Caylen Pieterse (10 months)

Hi Jacqui, thank you very much for all your time and effort….! We did continue with the sleep training, although we decided should it cause arguing that we would not. However the feedback I can give is that within a week both are sleeping through now from 18:30 until 6:30, and taking their 1 ˝ hour day naps and the routine is working out rather well for us.

With Caylen though we tell her before nap time that it is now time to dudu and then we put her in the cot awake, then we just repeat that it is now time to dudu until she gets drowsy and falls asleep on her own without patting her or rocking her. She just wants to see us and know we are in the room and didn't leave her.

I can honestly say that I cannot believe the difference within a week, and that we don't have these fights anymore when it is nap time. They are completely different babies and I'm so proud that I could show my mom that we don't have to rock babies to get them to sleep and also that they are able to sleep through at night.

We have a few challenges here and there, however I must say it is easier to make decisions if you have a plan, if you are in control and have the skills and knowledge available.

Many thanks,
Elaine
